Made from durable CNC-machined aluminum, the Sony FX5 Camera Cage is precisely designed to protect the Sony FX5 while expanding its functionality. The camera is securely mounted to the cage with a 1/4-20 screw, ensuring a rigid and reliable connection suitable for professional productions. The cage features a versatile range of 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded mounting holes with ARRI-style anti-twist positioning patterns, providing multiple options for mounting accessories such as external monitors, magic arms, or wireless systems. A side NATO rail allows quick, tool-free attachment of compatible NATO side handles, clamps, and other accessories, making it easy to customize the rig on set. An integrated cold shoe receiver on top allows microphones, wireless receivers, or compact lights to be mounted, while the built-in HDMI locking system ensures a secure and stable cable connection, helping prevent accidental signal loss during filming.

At the base, the cage features an ARCA Swiss quick-release plate, allowing smooth transitions between gimbal, tripod, and handheld configurations without requiring additional plates or adapters. By installing the ARCA Swiss plate on the right side of the cage, it can be combined with its baseplate for 9x16 vertical shooting. The cage's design provides full access to all essential camera controls, input/output ports, memory card slot, and battery compartment. All original camera functions, including the top handle and accessory ports, remain fully accessible while the camera is mounted inside the cage.

Developed around SHAPE’s 15 mm LWS system, the SHAPE Ultra-Light Baseplate offers full compatibility with industry-standard rods, allowing follow focuses, matte boxes, lens supports, and other essential accessories to be mounted with precise alignment. The baseplate includes a pair of 10-inch rods. Designed for speed and stability, it features a universal ARCA Swiss-compatible mounting system, allowing quick transitions between tripod, gimbal, handheld, and slider configurations without disrupting the setup. An optical center locking pin ensures that the camera locks precisely on the optical axis every time, preventing unwanted movement and maintaining the ideal lens height for mounted accessories. A rear locking lever provides additional security by clamping the camera cage or body from the back, keeping everything firmly in place even during dynamic shoots. Despite its robust construction, the setup remains ultra-lightweight, minimizing strain on the rig while maximizing performance.
